As the founder of Horizon Recovery Management, Dylan is an advocate for ending the stigma around addiction. He dedicates his time to mentoring men and women as they discover their authentic selves through faith, emotional expression, and personal growth.
Having grown up in a family impacted by substance use, Dylan understands the complex dynamics that addiction creates. This personal experience fuels his devotion to supporting families on their path to recovery and healing. He believes in the transformative power of connection, education, and faith to rebuild relationships and lives.
Dylan has trained with industry leaders like Brad Lamm, Michael Walsh, and Cali Estes, and adheres to the ethical standards set by the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation. He is currently pursuing accreditation as a Canadian Certified Recovery Coach. With 17 years in active recovery, Dylan has also completed a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology and Neuroscience from the University of Victoria. He is currently enrolled in a Master of Divinity program at Coastline College in Victoria, B.C.
Dylan is married to Tami Dewis, and together they are raising two children: a daughter, Makena, and a son, Oliver. Originally from Prince George, B.C., Dylan knew from the age of 12 that he wanted to call Vancouver Island home. His heart also finds a second home in Thailand, where he and Tami are involved in mission work, striving to improve the lives of children through God’s love.
An outdoor enthusiast and fitness advocate, Dylan enjoys weightlifting, fly fishing, snowboarding, hiking, hunting, and music. As a believer, he promotes a purpose-driven business model, supporting mission work in Thailand with the vision of improving the lives of a million children through God’s grace.
